Lo Spasimo The ruins of Lo Spasimo have a long and intricate history. Construction began in 1506 on a church, but 30 years later the area was quickly converted to a defensive bastion against the threat of invasion from the Turks. Since then, it's been a theatre, a storehouse, a hospital and a shelter for the poor. Address: Via Santa Maria dello Spasimo, 13 Palermo PA Italy
